We evaluate energy efficiency data to identify the cost and savings of YOUR facility upgrades.
Sustainability & Renewable Energy
-
From the data our Energy Engineering team monitors on your buildings, we are able to make recommendations to our clients on potential renewable energy sources and ways to reduce energy consumption. Examples of this include; passive solar, active solar, and geothermal system application to your site if cost effective.

Operational budgets are always under pressure. That is why we focus on minimizing the total cost of ownership for the life of your buildings. Nexus ensures the architectural, site, and building infrastructure systems work hand-in-hand to reduce long-term operating costs and allow more of your budget to be used for educating students.
Energy Engineering & Utility Tracking Our in-house Energy Engineering team can analyze your utility expenditures and conduct a thorough investigation of each building to determine the baseline operating conditions, runtime schedules, equipment efficiency, and building use. We provide ongoing utility bill tracking reviewing for billing anomalies, best rate tariffs, and comparison of building consumption to best-in-class targets. We also audit your repair and service expenditures looking for opportunities to redirect funds towards correcting root cause deficiencies.

Westwood Elementary, Elk River School District
Our team’s design work in the Elk River School District is highlighted in the ‘Advanced Design Guide for K-12 School Buildings’ and adopted by the EPA as the standard for HVAC IAQ design for K-12 school buildings. Westwood Elementary School was the first K-12 school in Minnesota to earn LEED certification with construction of the building focused on energy conservation and efficiency, water conservation and efficiency, site maximization, and use of natural daylight. All Nexus designs are to LEED requirements.
